Parvana's family could have left Afghanistan when the Taliban stared taking over but they chose to stay because if Parvana's mother and family where to go Parvana's mother has to take care of two children Maryam and Ali. Parvana's family doesn't want to go because they're already struggling in this country and they been in Afghanistan for a few years so how are they going to survive in another country they hardly know or been there.
